Got a lil story about this one, actually. One of my exes introduced me to @club_chai a few years ago and, up to that point in time, my friend roster consisted mostly of straight cis folk. I felt largely alienated in years prior, which was a huge driving force behind earlier iterations of BerryessaTV—I was trying to find other people like myself. Imagine my SHOOK when I arrived the night of their two year anniversary and found myself surrounded by mostly black and brown queer folk. Bored Lord was one of the many faces I grew accustomed to seeing at subsequent events and, while we were never formally introduced, I will say that “Crush on U” is THE SONG I COULDN’T SHAZAM BC SHAZAM DOESN’T REALLY WORK IN THE CLUB. I actually ended up rediscovering the song entirely on accident. Anyways, this started out as a chopped & screwed remix. Now? I’m not sure what it is, but it’s funky. What I’m capable of doing was fairly limited by not having stems, but the upside to this is that it forced me to be creative well outside of my comfort zone and I learned a few new tricks in the process. Oh yeah, I moved to Santa Cruz btw. Still kinda homeless, but at least in good hands.
